NEW DELHI: The Indian government’s ‘One Nation, One Subscription’ (ONOS) initiative aims to provide seamless access to global research resources, strengthening the nation’s research ecosystem. Approved in November 2024, this scheme will cater to over 1.8 crore students, researchers, and faculty members across 6,300 higher education institutions and R&D labs in the country.
Key Highlights:
- Nationwide Access: ONOS will grant access to over 13,000 scholarly journals from renowned international publishers like Elsevier, Springer-Nature, and Wiley.
- Digital Platform: A user-friendly platform will ensure easy access to these resources, enabling scholars from even remote areas to tap into global knowledge.
- Government Support: The initiative is backed by a budget of ₹6,000 crore for 2025-2027, ensuring uninterrupted access to academic content.
