Legendary Australian filmmaker Phillip Noyce was conferred the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI 2024), held in Goa. This esteemed recognition honors his outstanding contributions to global cinema and his masterful storytelling over a career spanning more than five decades.

Noyce, whose critically acclaimed works include The Quiet American, Rabbit-Proof Fence, Salt, and Patriot Games, expressed his gratitude for the award during an inspiring acceptance speech. The opening film, Better Man, a semi-autobiographical story about British pop icon Robbie Williams, set the tone for the event. The festival also featured discussions, workshops, and tributes to iconic filmmakers, further fostering global cinematic exchange.
