Prime Minister Applauds Youth-Led Tech Innovation as Digital India Completes 11 Transformative Years

New Delhi: As India celebrates the 11th anniversary of the Digital India initiative, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi hailed the role of the country’s youth in spearheading technological advancements and driving self-reliance. In a series of posts on social media, the Prime Minister emphasized the monumental changes brought about in service delivery, transparency, and socio-economic empowerment through the power of digital technology.



Youth as the Torchbearers of Innovation

Lauding the enthusiasm and creativity of India’s young minds, Shri Modi said:

From Digital Payments, e-Governance, JAM Trinity (Jan Dhan-Aadhaar-Mobile) to telemedicine, digital education, and rural internet connectivity, the Digital India initiative has revolutionized access to government services, especially for marginalized and remote communities.

Impact Over 11 Years

Key milestones achieved under Digital India in the past 11 years include:

  • Over 1.3 billion Aadhaar enrollments, enabling targeted and transparent welfare delivery.

  • More than 95% villages connected with mobile and internet services.

  • UPI handling over 13 billion transactions per month.

  • Nearly 7 lakh Common Service Centres (CSCs) offering digital services across rural India.

  • Growth of India’s IT exports and positioning as a leading destination for digital talent globally.
