New Delhi: Early Monday morning, Delhi earthquake tremors were felt across the capital and nearby areas, causing panic among residents. The Delhi Earthquake tremors, recorded at a magnitude of 4.0, led to people rushing out of their homes in alarm. The epicenter was reported to be near Dhaula Kuan- the centre of Delhi, with a shallow depth of five kilometers.
The sudden Delhi Earthquake Tremors created concern, especially among those living in high-rise buildings in Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad. Many residents reported strong jolts accompanied by a loud noise. However, no significant damage or injuries have been reported so far.
In response to the situation, authorities have urged the public to stay calm and take necessary precautions. Prime Minister Narendra Modi advised citizens to remain alert for possible aftershocks amid Delhi Earthquake Tremors and follow safety guidelines. Officials are closely monitoring the developments to ensure public safety.
Delhi is situated in Seismic Zone IV, making it prone to earthquakes. The city has experienced minor tremors in the past, with the last notable one occurring in 2015. The recurrence of Delhi earthquake tremors highlights the need for preparedness and awareness among residents.
Safety Guidelines :-
- During the Earthquake: Follow the “Drop, Cover, and Hold On” technique. Drop to the ground, cover your head and neck, and take shelter under sturdy furniture.
- If Outdoors: Move to an open area away from buildings, trees, and electrical wires.
- After the Earthquake: Stay alert for aftershocks, inspect surroundings for hazards, and report any structural damage or gas leaks to authorities.
Emergency helplines have been activated, and residents are encouraged to stay informed through official sources. While the latest earthquake tremors did not cause significant destruction, they serve as a reminder of the region’s vulnerability to seismic activity and also highlights the need for earthquake preparedness and awareness.
