On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded Kuwait’s highest distinction, The Order of Mubarak Al Kabeer, during his state visit to the Gulf nation. This prestigious honor marks the 20th international award bestowed upon the Indian leader.
The Order of Mubarak Al Kabeer is a knightly decoration given to foreign Heads of State, Sovereigns, and royal family members as a symbol of friendship. PM Modi expressed his gratitude for the recognition, sharing on social media, “I am honoured to be conferred the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Order by His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah. I dedicate this honour to the people of India and to the strong friendship between India and Kuwait.”
This distinguished award has previously been presented to prominent international figures, including former U.S. Presidents Bill Clinton and George Bush, and Prince Charles. PM Modi’s international accolades continue to highlight his growing diplomatic influence. Just last month, he was conferred with The Order of Excellence, Guyana’s highest national award, during his visit to the Caribbean nation.
During his state visit, PM Modi also received a grand ceremonial guard of honor at the Bayan Palace in Kuwait. The Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah, was present to welcome him. The honor is a testament to the strong diplomatic ties between India and Kuwait, further strengthening the relationship between the two nations.
