Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Delhi on January 5 to inaugurate and lay the foundation for several major development projects, with a combined value exceeding Rs.12,200 crore. These initiatives aim to enhance transportation and healthcare infrastructure in the capital, ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.

A highlight of the day will be the launch of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat Rapid Rail (RRTS) corridor. This 13-kilometre stretch, worth Rs.4,600 crore, will connect Sahibabad in Ghaziabad with New Ashok Nagar in Delhi, marking a significant step in improving connectivity between Delhi and Meerut. PM Modi is scheduled to take a ride on the Namo Bharat train at 11:15 am, showcasing the project’s potential to ease travel and benefit millions with its high-speed, safe, and reliable services.

Additionally, the Delhi Metro Phase-IV will see two important developments. The 2.8 km stretch between Janakpuri and Krishna Park, valued at Rs.1,200 crore, will be inaugurated. PM Modi will also lay the foundation for the 26.5 km Rithala-Kundli section, worth Rs.6,230 crore, improving connectivity in Delhi and northern Haryana, including areas like Rohini, Narela, and Kundli.

In another key move, PM Modi will unveil a new state-of-the-art building for the Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI) in Rohini, costing Rs.185 crore. The new facility is expected to enhance healthcare infrastructure and promote research in traditional medicine.

These projects are set to bring significant improvements to Delhi’s transportation, healthcare, and connectivity landscape.
