In a significant New Year move, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate several key projects in Delhi on January 3, aimed at modernizing the city’s infrastructure and improving the lives of its residents.

Among the major highlights is the inauguration of the World Trade Centre (WTC) in Nauroji Nagar, which replaces over 600 outdated quarters with state-of-the-art commercial towers, offering around 34 lakh square feet of premium space. This project stands out for its commitment to sustainable building practices, including a zero-discharge system, solar energy generation, and rainwater harvesting.

PM Modi will also lay the foundation for Veer Savarkar College at Roshanpura, Najafgarh. This educational institution, part of a ₹600 crore initiative, is set to provide modern academic facilities to students in the area. Along with the college, two additional academic blocks at Delhi University’s Eastern Campus in Surajmal Vihar and Western Campus in Dwarka will also be developed.

In another major development, PM Modi will visit the Swabhiman Apartments in Ashok Vihar to inspect newly built flats for the residents of Jhuggi Jhopri clusters. The flats are part of the In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Project by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), aimed at providing better living conditions. The project has successfully provided 1,675 flats, each valued at ₹25 lakh, with beneficiaries contributing just a small fraction of the cost.

PM Modi will also visit Nauroji Nagar and Sarojini Nagar, where the General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) project has been undertaken. This initiative includes 28 towers with over 2,500 residential units, complete with modern amenities and eco-friendly features, such as solar-powered waste compactors and water treatment plants.

These initiatives mark a new chapter in Delhi’s urban development, with a focus on sustainability, modernization, and the well-being of its residents.
