Nagpur: Shiv Sena leader Bharat Gogawale anticipates that the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance government in Maharashtra will finalize the distribution of portfolios today. The alliance, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena, and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), has been navigating the final stages of government formation following their decisive victory in the recent assembly elections.

Shiv Sena’s Gogawale, speaking to reporters in Nagpur, confirmed ongoing discussions among the alliance partners. “Leaders of the three parties met on Friday, and this morning, we had a breakfast meeting with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. There is no disagreement over portfolios, and the decision will be agreeable to all,” he said. Gogawale also hoped to be named the guardian minister for Raigad, his home district.

Background of the Mahayuti Alliance

The Mahayuti coalition, after winning 230 seats, formed the government but delayed portfolio allocation due to Shinde’s demands.

Key Developments

On December 15, the Mahayuti government expanded its cabinet, swearing in 39 ministers. Among them were 19 BJP members, 11 Shiv Sena leaders, and nine NCP representatives.

The portfolio allocation is expected to solidify the alliance’s governance structure. All eyes are on today’s developments as Maharashtra’s political landscape continues to evolve.
