As the Delhi Assembly elections draw near, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have intensified their political rivalry with a heated poster war. Drawing inspiration from blockbuster films, both parties have used creative visuals to take jabs at each other.
AAP recently targeted BJP’s Kalkaji candidate, Ramesh Bidhuri, with a poster portraying him as a villain from the movie Baahubali. Shared on X (formerly Twitter), the poster labeled him as the “Gaalibaaz CM face” of the BJP, referencing alleged offensive remarks made by him.
In retaliation, the BJP fired back with a poster attacking Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, dubbing him “Sheeshmahal wale AAP-da-e-aazam.” The slogan criticized Kejriwal for alleged extravagant renovations at his official bungalow on Flagstaff Road, with the BJP claiming it symbolized excessive luxury.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also weighed in, labeling AAP’s decade-long governance in Delhi as a “disaster” (aapda) and urging citizens to vote for the BJP to end it.
AAP responded with another fiery poster, “BJP ke Gaalibaz Daanavon Se Delhi Rahe Satark” (Stay alert from BJP’s abusive monsters), targeting BJP leaders Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Manoj Tiwari, and Ramesh Bidhuri.
The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled for February 5, with votes to be counted on February 8. Nominations will close on January 17, with scrutiny on January 18 and withdrawals by January 20. As tensions rise, both parties are using every tactic to sway voters, setting the stage for a high-stakes political battle.
