New Delhi: Professor Pradeep Kumar Prajapati formally assumed charge as the Director of the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi, on September 13, 2025. A distinguished academician and seasoned researcher, Prof. Prajapati brings extensive experience from his tenure as Vice-Chancellor of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Rajasthan Ayurved University, Jodhpur, and longstanding contributions to Gujarat Ayurved University, Jamnagar.
Formal Welcome Ceremony: Professor Pradeep Kumar Prajapati
A formal ceremony was organized at AIIA, commencing with the ceremonial lamp lighting and Dhanvantari Vandana. The event was graced by the institute’s former Executive Director Prof. (Dr.) Manjusha Rajagopal, Dean (PhD) Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Vyas, alongside academic, medical, administrative, and nursing staff. Prof. Prajapati received a warm welcome with floral tributes from attendees.

Following the ceremony, Prof. Prajapati participated in the valedictory session of a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program for All India Institute of Ayurveda faculty, where he also performed the ceremonial lamp lighting.
Academic Background and Term
Prof. Prajapati holds a BAMS degree from Gurukul Kangri University and completed his MD and PhD from Banaras Hindu University (BHU). His appointment as Director of AIIA was approved by the Union Cabinet, with a tenure scheduled for five years from the date of assumption or until the age of superannuation, whichever is earlier.
