Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor, who has been on a hunger strike in Patna’s Gandhi Maidan demanding justice for students protesting the BPSC exam irregularities, has responded to allegations regarding the luxury vanity van parked near the protest site. Media reports had claimed that the vehicle, equipped with various high-end amenities, was either a vanity van worth ₹2 crore or that it cost ₹25 lakh per day to rent. Kishor vehemently denied these claims, explaining that the vehicle is simply being used for basic personal needs.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, Kishor clarified that he uses the van for necessary activities like relieving himself, as it would be impractical to go home. He pointed out that had he left the protest site for such purposes, the media would have accused him of seeking food or rest. Kishor humorously challenged the media to send the vanity van away, but in return, demanded ₹25 lakh per day and an alternative facility to meet basic hygiene needs.

Kishor also raised concerns about the media’s double standards, asking if journalists would question the Prime Minister or Bihar’s Chief Minister about their luxury amenities. The former election strategist, who is championing the cause of students who allege a question paper leak in the December 13 BPSC exam, also finds himself embroiled in a legal controversy, with the Patna police filing an FIR against him and his supporters for allegedly organizing an illegal protest.

Despite these challenges, Kishor has continued to receive support from opposition leaders, including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who has backed the ongoing agitation.
