Actor Prateik Babbar has tied the knot with Priya Banerjee in a serene and intimate wedding ceremony. The couple, who had been dating for some time, celebrated their union at a meaningful location— the home of Prateik’s late mother, iconic actress Smita Patil, in Bandra, Mumbai.
Prateik and Priya shared the joyous occasion with their fans by posting beautiful pictures from the ceremony on social media. In their heartfelt post, they wrote, “I’ll marry you in every lifetime #priyaKAprateik.” The images showcase the couple in a tender embrace, with Prateik seen becoming emotional in one photo, sitting in front of an image of his mother, Smita Patil.
For their big day, the couple chose traditional attire designed by renowned designer Tarun Tahiliani. Priya looked stunning in an ivory and gold lehenga, detailed with delicate threadwork and embroidery that highlighted the elegance of Indian craftsmanship. She complemented her lehenga with a corset and a sheer dupatta, accessorizing with intricate kundan jewelry, including a maangtika, bangles, choker-style necklace, and statement earrings. Her minimalistic makeup enhanced her natural beauty.
Prateik looked equally handsome in a traditional open sherwani, paired with a shirt and dhoti set, and accessorized with a pearl necklace, completing his look.
The wedding decor was kept minimal, with soft ivory and white hues taking center stage. The mandap was adorned with fresh white flowers and lush greenery, contributing to the dreamy, romantic vibe of the ceremony.
In a conversation with Vogue India, Prateik shared his emotional connection to the venue, saying, “We desired a ‘ghar ki shaadi’, and getting married to the love of my life here—the first house that my mom bought and my home—was the best way to honour her in spirit.”
This marks Prateik’s second marriage. He was previously married to Sanya Sagar, but the couple divorced in January 2023, just a year after their wedding.
While the wedding was a joyous occasion for the couple, it has sparked some family tension. Prateik’s half-brother, Aarya Babbar, revealed that Prateik’s father, veteran actor Raj Babbar, was not invited to the ceremony. In an interview, Aarya expressed his confusion and disappointment over Prateik’s decision to exclude the Babbar family from the celebration, suggesting that external influence may have led to this choice.
