“Prayas” – A First-of-its-Kind Integrated Neuro Rehabilitation Centre Launched at AIIA Goa: 2025

Goa: The Ministry of Ayush marked a significant milestone with the launch of “Prayas,” an Integrated Neuro-Rehabilitation Centre at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Goa, unveiled on the occasion of the 10th Ayurveda Day. The centre was inaugurated by Union Minister of State Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Ministry of Ayush (IC) and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, alongside Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for Power & New & Renewable Energy, senior Ministry officials, and AIIA faculty.

Holistic Neuro-Rehabilitation Model

“Prayas” stands as one of the country’s first multidisciplinary centres combining Ayurveda, Physiotherapy, Yoga, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and modern Paediatric care under one roof. The centre offers comprehensive and patient-centred neuro-rehabilitation, with a special focus on children facing neurological and developmental challenges.



Emphasizing Integrative Care and Hope

At the inauguration, Shri Prataprao Jadhav emphasized that the Ministry is committed to developing centres of excellence that fuse traditional wisdom with modern medical science. He described “Prayas” as a model of integrative rehabilitation, aiming to provide renewed quality of life and hope to patients and their families.

Echoing these sentiments, Shri Shripad Yesso Naik underscored the importance of rehabilitation in tackling neurological and developmental disorders. He lauded the innovative care model adopted at AIIA Goa for its potential to provide new hope to families managing complex health issues.

Academic and Research Focus

Prof. P.K. Prajapati, Director of AIIA, explained that the launch of “Prayas” aligns with the institute’s vision to pioneer innovative, evidence-based integrative healthcare models. Prof. Sujata Kadam, Dean of AIIA Goa, highlighted the centre’s role in delivering holistic neuro rehabilitation and its commitment to research and training in Ayush-based healthcare innovations.

Dignitaries and Faculty Participation

The inauguration was attended by senior dignitaries including the Secretary of Ministry of Ayush, Director and Dean of AIIA, Associate Dean, and the Kaumarbhritya (Paediatrics) Department faculty members such as Dr. Sumeet Goel, Dr. Rahul Ghuse, Dr. Samruddhi, Dr. Diksha, Dr. Shalini, and others.
