BANGRIPOSI (ODISHA): In a significant move to address developmental challenges, President Droupadi Murmu has broken the conventional protocol by undertaking multiple visits to Odisha, particularly her native Mayurbhanj district, to expedite infrastructure projects and developmental works.
During the last day of her five-day visit to the state, President Murmu laid the foundation stone for vital projects, including three new railway lines, a tribal research and development centre, Dandbose airport, and a sub-divisional hospital at Rairangpur. Her proactive approach underscores her commitment to the welfare of the tribal communities in the region.
Addressing the gathering in Bangriposi, the President emphasized, “Generally, there is no provision of visiting one’s own state or district as the President. However, I broke the protocol and came here frequently because of the difficulties faced by the people of this area. Keeping in view the requirements of this area, I do whatever is possible on my part.”
Her visit reflects a deep-rooted intent to prioritize the needs of the local population and ensure projects are executed promptly. The foundation projects, including critical railway and airport infrastructure, aim to improve connectivity, access to healthcare, and economic development across the region.
President Murmu’s decision to visit her home district despite the breach of protocol has been widely seen as a powerful gesture of leadership and empathy. This hands-on involvement not only highlights her vision but also demonstrates her commitment to addressing grassroots challenges.
The projects initiated during her visit are expected to boost the economy, provide better healthcare services, and support the lives of marginalized tribal communities in Odisha.
