On December 30, President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate the Dr. Sampat Kumar S. Shivangi Cancer Hospital in Belagavi, Karnataka. The hospital, located in the rural areas of the state, was built with a generous donation from Dr. Sampat Shivangi, an Indian-American doctor who contributed his family’s fortune to make this dream a reality.
Dr. Shivangi expressed his deep gratitude, stating that it is an honor for him that the President of India will officially open the hospital. He shared his pride in establishing this facility in his home district of Belgaum, where he had previously worked as an Assistant Professor at the local medical college. The hospital is part of his long-standing vision to enhance healthcare services in rural Karnataka, providing much-needed access to advanced cancer treatment.
The newly built cancer hospital is equipped with modern medical technology and facilities, aimed at improving cancer care in a region that has long lacked specialized treatment options. Dr. Shivangi hopes that the hospital will not only offer top-tier medical care but also serve as a beacon of hope for families battling cancer in the area.
This inauguration marks a significant achievement for Dr. Shivangi, who has dedicated his resources to ensuring that communities in his home state benefit from high-quality healthcare. It is also a testament to his enduring commitment to public service and the well-being of his fellow citizens.
