MUMBAI: To mark the birth centenary of the legendary filmmaker Raj Kapoor, a special retrospective showcasing ten of his most iconic films will be held from December 13 to 15 across India. This unique celebration, titled Raj Kapoor 100 – Celebrating the Centenary of the Greatest Showman, will feature timeless classics such as Aag, Awaara, Shree 420, Sangam, and Bobby, among others.
The announcement of this grand event was made by Raj Kapoor’s grandson and actor Ranbir Kapoor during a session dedicated to his grandfather at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) last month. This retrospective promises to be a tribute to Kapoor’s unparalleled contribution to Indian cinema and his indelible impact on audiences worldwide.
Presented by R.K. Films, Film Heritage Foundation, and NFDC-National Film Archive of India, the retrospective aims to reignite the magic of Raj Kapoor’s unforgettable films, showcasing his visionary storytelling, vibrant characters, and musical brilliance that defined the golden era of Bollywood.
