Mumbai: On August 31, 2025, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Regional Centre Mumbai, in partnership with Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP), organized the 38th edition of ‘Sundays on Cycle’ at Borivali, Mumbai. The event welcomed over 500 participants who cycled together to promote fitness, sustainability, and the spirit of community.
Inspiring Leadership and Mass Participation
Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports, Smt. Raksha Nikhil Khadse, presided as Chief Guest, while renowned actor and fitness icon Shri Jackie Shroff attended as Guest of Honour. Both leaders inspired attendees by highlighting the importance of active living and its role in addressing urban challenges.
Minister Khadse emphasized that “Sundays on Cycle”—a nation-wide initiative under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Fit India Mission—continues to gain momentum week after week. She underscored cycling not only as an avenue for personal wellbeing but also as an environmentally-friendly solution to urban pollution and traffic congestion. Her call to embrace cycling as part of daily life resonated strongly with the crowd.
Fitness Motivation from Jackie Shroff
Jackie Shroff, known for his passion for health and fitness, encouraged the gathering with his signature enthusiasm: “Fitness is for everyone. Pair mein dum to aage kadam.” He motivated citizens to take charge of their health, stay strong, and inspire others to lead active lives.
National Sports Day Celebration
This edition of Sundays on Cycle was part of SAI RC Mumbai’s three-day National Sports Day celebration, led by Regional Director Shri Pandurang Chate (IRS). The event showcased how collaboration and leadership can drive communal efforts toward holistic wellbeing.
