YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, known for his BeerBiceps channel, has come forward to address the recent controversy surrounding his remarks on the YouTube show India’s Got Latent. Allahbadia shared a new message on Instagram after Mumbai police were unable to trace him, with his phone being switched off during an ongoing investigation into the matter.
In his statement, Allahbadia assured his followers and authorities that he is cooperating with the police and all relevant agencies. He clarified his stance on the issue, stating that he will follow due process and make himself available when needed. “My remark about parents was insensitive and disrespectful. It is my moral responsibility to do better and I am genuinely sorry,” he admitted in his message.
However, he also spoke about the distress he has been facing due to the threats against him and his family. Allahbadia shared that he had been receiving death threats from people, some of whom had even invaded his mother’s clinic posing as patients. Despite the overwhelming fear and uncertainty, he made it clear that he would not be running away. “I have full faith in the police and the judicial system of India,” he declared, emphasizing that he is committed to facing the consequences.
The controversy erupted following Allahbadia’s appearance on India’s Got Latent, a show hosted by comedian Samay Raina. The podcast, which has since been deleted, featured Allahbadia making crude and controversial comments about parents and sex, sparking widespread backlash. Several complaints were lodged against the podcaster, and the issue has since escalated, with many calling for legal action.
On Saturday, reports revealed that Mumbai police were facing difficulties in contacting Allahbadia, as his phone remained switched off. Authorities had attempted to reach him but were unsuccessful. The police had previously visited his residence in Versova but found the apartment locked. They have recorded statements from several individuals related to the incident, including influencers Apoorva Mukhija and Ashish Chanchalani, as well as Allahbadia’s manager.
While the police have not yet registered an FIR, investigations are ongoing, and the Maharashtra Cyber team has summoned at least 50 individuals connected to the case. Among those summoned are participants from the show, including actor and film personality Raghu Ram, who has already recorded his statement.
In the midst of the growing tension, Allahbadia has pledged his full cooperation with the authorities, stressing that he is committed to rectifying his mistake and being accountable for his actions. His statement also highlights his concerns for his family’s safety, yet he reassured his supporters that he will not shy away from addressing the issue.
