Chattisgarh: In a major success for anti-Naxal operations, security forces kill eight Naxalites in Bijapur Encounter, Chhattisgarh, during an intense encounter on Sunday. The deceased rebels were reportedly carrying a collective bounty of Rs 16 lakh, highlighting their significance within the Maoist ranks. According to police officials, a joint team of the District Reserve Guard (DRG), Special Task Force (STF), and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched an operation in the forests of Gangaloor in Bijapur. The forces received intelligence inputs about the presence of armed Naxalites planning an ambush. As the security forces advanced, they came under heavy gunfire, prompting them to retaliate.

The operation in Bijapur is another step towards ensuring safety and security for the people of Chhattisgarh.”
