Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan has addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding cricketers messaging female actors, including allegations made by TikToker Shahtaj Khan. Speaking candidly on Geo News’ “Hasna Mana Hai” talk show, Shadab defended cricketers’ interactions with actresses, arguing that sending messages via social media is not inherently wrong.
Shadab’s Response to Allegations
During the talk show, Shadab was asked by a fan whether he had ever sent messages to actresses, a topic that has recently made headlines due to public claims. In his response, Shadab dismissed any wrongdoing, stating that there is nothing wrong with cricketers messaging female actors. “Even if cricketers send messages, what is wrong with that?” he asked.
He further elaborated on the matter, noting that social media platforms give individuals the power to block or ignore unwanted messages. According to Shadab, if an actor doesn’t like the messages, they can simply block the sender or choose not to respond. He also highlighted that some actresses respond positively, giving the impression that they might be interested in continuing the conversation.
Social Media Interactions and Publicity Motives
Shadab also spoke about how such interactions are often discussed among cricketers in the dressing room, suggesting that the controversy over messaging can sometimes be exaggerated, particularly during high-profile events like the World Cup. He implied that some actors might make such claims to garner attention during these times, when the public’s eyes are focused on the players.
“We have seen some videos in which things are exaggerated but it doesn’t turn out like that,” Shadab explained. “Some actors do it for fame, like during a tournament or World Cup such things come out because everyone is keeping their eyes on it.”
Refuting Claims by Shahtaj Khan
Shadab’s remarks come after TikToker Shahtaj Khan claimed last year that she was in contact with the cricketer on WhatsApp and Instagram and even proposed marriage to him. Shadab, who has been married for over two years to Malaika, daughter of former Pakistan cricketer Saqlain Mushtaq, denied these claims, stating that there was no truth to them.
Shahtaj Khan, in her statements, expressed disappointment over Shadab’s marriage, claiming she was unaware of it at the time of their communication. “I was disheartened after he got married, which I believe is quite normal when your crush marries someone else,” she said.
However, Shadab dismissed these allegations, saying, “There’s nothing like what’s being claimed.”
Conclusion: Shadab Stands by His Actions
Shadab Khan’s response highlights a perspective that many in the public eye, including athletes, are often subject to exaggerated claims. While he acknowledged that cricketers’ interactions with actors may be scrutinized, he firmly defended the idea that messaging on social media is a normal part of modern communication, especially when both parties have the option to engage or disengage at will.
