Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh – Senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and Leader of Opposition in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, Mata Prasad Pandey, led a party delegation to Sambhal on December 30, 2024. The visit aimed to deliver financial assistance to the families of individuals who lost their lives in recent violence in the area.

SP President Akhilesh Yadav had previously announced a compensation of ₹5 lakh for each bereaved family. Pandey stated, “Our national president had announced to give ₹5 lakh each to the kin of the deceased in Sambhal. We are going to Sambhal today to hand over the cheques.”

The delegation’s visit underscores the SP’s commitment to supporting affected families during this challenging period. Pandey emphasized that the administration had been informed of their visit, ensuring a coordinated effort to provide relief.

The recent unrest in Sambhal resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries. Law enforcement agencies have arrested 50 individuals in connection with the violence. Authorities continue to investigate the incidents to restore peace and order in the region.
