The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed that air traffic had returned to normal after the incident, but the event drew attention to the risks involved in testing rockets of such a massive scale. SpaceX quickly addressed the situation, stating that its team would analyze the flight data thoroughly to identify the cause of the failure and prevent future mishaps.
Despite the disappointing outcome, SpaceX remained upbeat. CEO Elon Musk shared a video of the falling debris and humorously commented, “Success is uncertain, but entertainment is guaranteed!” Known for his optimism in the face of setbacks, Musk also defended the launch, stating that Starship is the first rocket design where making life multiplanetary is a feasible goal, despite occasional failures.
While the mission didn’t achieve its primary objectives, there was a small victory in the test. The Starship rocket managed to successfully return its booster to the launch pad, an achievement that SpaceX hailed as a positive step forward in the development of the rocket’s technology.
