Navi Mumbai: Supriya Sule, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP, has launched a scathing critique of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership, accusing the current “BJP 2.0” of lacking cultural refinement and integrity. Speaking at a campaign rally for the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) candidate Sandeep Naik in Belapur, Sule highlighted the recent controversies surrounding BJP leaders, particularly Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Sule’s criticism was sharp as she referenced an alleged audio recording of BJP MLA Manda Mhatre, in which inappropriate language was used, although Mhatre denied its authenticity. Sule also pointed to alleged incidents involving BJP leaders, including Dhananjay Mahadik and Raosaheb Danve, who faced accusations of threatening women and assaulting party workers.

The NCP leader further targeted Fadnavis for his handling of law and order issues, contrasting his record with that of R R Patil, whom she praised for his transparent approach to police recruitment during his tenure. She also referenced the Badlapur sexual abuse case, accusing Fadnavis’s administration of failing to address rising crimes against women effectively.

Sule’s remarks extended to the broader political environment, criticizing the BJP’s approach to political discourse and calling out their hypocrisy. “They labeled us the ‘Naturally Corrupt Party’ before welcoming our former members into their fold,” she remarked.

NCP State President Jayant Patil also voiced concerns about the BJP’s alleged use of communal tactics, particularly bringing in leaders like Yogi Adityanath to stoke division in Maharashtra, a state known for its inclusive culture.

Sule concluded her address with a promise of transparent governance under a future MVA government, positioning it as an alternative to what she described as BJP’s divisive and authoritarian approach to politics.
