Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2025 Campaign Successfully Launches with Massive DFS Participation Nationwide

Breaking News

New Delhi: On September 17, 2025, the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, launched the ambitious Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2025 campaign, initiating a two-week nationwide cleanliness drive. With the theme “Swachhotsav”, the campaign seeks to blend festive spirit with a strong sense of civic responsibility toward cleanliness, as part of the Government of India’s broader Swachh Bharat Mission.

Nationwide Organisational Participation

This year’s campaign is remarkable for its scale—over 1.05 lakh DFS organisations and more than 86,000 branches of public sector banks, financial institutions, insurance companies, regulators, regional rural banks, and other entities will conduct coordinated cleanliness drives. Activities spanning all five pillars of SHS—CTU transformation, clean public spaces, Safai Mitra Suraksha, eco-friendly festivities, and mass advocacy—will be rolled out.

Key Activities and Focus Areas

  • A synchronized Swachhata Pledge was taken by all participating DFS bodies across India.

  • Branches are tasked with plantation drives and special outreach programmes to enrol Safai Mitras in government welfare schemes, including PMJDY, PMSBY, and PMJJBY.

  • Lead District Managers (LDMs) will oversee the identification and transformation of local “black spots” (garbage-prone or neglected areas), with ten locations in each district scheduled for targeted cleaning in rural and urban zones.

  • A landmark nationwide Shramdaan activity involving bankers, Safai Mitras, volunteers, and local citizens is scheduled for 8:00 AM on September 25, 2025.

Conclusion: Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2025

The SHS 2025 campaign sets a new benchmark for participation and scale in the financial sector’s contribution to India’s Swachh Bharat Mission. With broad institutional and community engagement, SHS 2025 reflects the evolving vision of sustainable and inclusive cleanliness—building a cleaner India through collective action and lasting behavioural change.
