New Delhi: The Department of Commerce and its organizations have launched the Swachhata Hi Sewa 2025 campaign, conducting cleanliness drives at multiple public spaces nationwide. On September 18, 2025, employees at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi, actively participated by cleaning pathways outside their premises. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) also organized a similar cleanliness drive at Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi, while the Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics (DGCIS) cleaned high-footfall public spaces in Kolkata.
Nationwide Participation Across Government Organizations
Alongside these efforts, the Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) led a cleanliness campaign at the Government Fisheries School in Thevara, Ernakulam, involving officials, teachers, and students. The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) conducted a similar drive at its office premises. Special Economic Zones (SEZs) across the country also contributed actively: Cochin SEZ organized a drive at MAAM Government LP School in Kakkanad, Kandla SEZ cleaned surrounding areas, and various Indore SEZ companies took part in cleaning public spaces.
Focus on Cleanliness in Multiple Locations
The Export Inspection Agency (EIA), Kochi, cleaned its office and the Panampilly Walkway, while EIA Mumbai conducted drives in nearby gardens. The Spices Board and Tobacco Board in Guntur participated with cleanup efforts at their premises, notably removing garbage accumulated due to flooding. MMTC Limited also joined by cleaning its Delhi office premises.
Other departmental organizations, including the Directorate General of Trade Remedies, Rubber Board, Coffee Board, Tea Board, Indian Institute of Packaging, and SEZs such as Visakhapatnam SEZ, Falta SEZ, SEEPZ SEZ Mumbai, MEPZ Madras, and the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, actively participated in this nationwide cleanliness campaign.
