They were found with 11 grams of cocaine and confessed during questioning that the drugs had been supplied to Srikanth via a middleman.

Further investigation uncovered that Srikanth purchased the drugs through a known associate, T. Prasad, an expelled AIADMK member. Prasad, who had also been booked in an earlier bar brawl case, reportedly handed over cocaine to Srikanth at a Nungambakkam pub.
