Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav has criticized Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party, alleging it acts as a ‘B team’ for Bihar’s ruling alliance under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Yadav claims the party misled students protesting the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) exams, leading to confrontations with the police.

The controversy centers on the BPSC Combined Competitive Exams held on December 13, which drew over five lakh candidates across more than 900 centers in Bihar. Allegations of question paper leaks at the Bapu Pariksha Parisar exam center in Patna led to boycotts and demands for cancellation. The BPSC has denied these allegations, labeling them a conspiracy to disrupt the examination process.

On Sunday, protesters, joined by Prashant Kishor, gathered at Gandhi Maidan and attempted to march toward the Chief Minister’s residence. Police used water cannons to disperse the crowd, resulting in clashes. An FIR has been filed against Kishor, Jan Suraaj Party president Manoj Bharti, and others for their involvement in the protest.

In a video message, Tejashwi Yadav accused the Jan Suraaj Party of misleading the protesters and acting in concert with the government. He urged students to remain steadfast in their demands and assured them of the RJD’s political support for the cancellation of the exams. Yadav emphasized that the BPSC operates under the government’s purview, with its chairman appointed by the Chief Minister, who also oversees the Home Department controlling the police.
