In a determined effort to combat human trafficking, Telangana Police, in collaboration with the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), have executed a series of strategic raids, leading to the rescue of victims and the arrest of individuals involved in these illicit activities.

Rescue Operation in Kondapur

On a recent Wednesday night, law enforcement officials targeted the Stylish Beauty Salon and Spa located in Kondapur, within the jurisdiction of the Gachibowli Police Station. This operation resulted in the rescue of four young women who were reportedly coerced into prostitution. Authorities apprehended three patrons and the organizer, identified as Satyanarayana. The Inspector of Gachibowli Police Station stated, “We conducted a raid, along with Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) officials, at Stylish Beauty Salon and Spa in Kondapur. We rescued four victim girls and took three customers and one organizer, Satyanarayana, into custody.”

Swift Response in Kachiguda

In a separate incident, Kachiguda Police dismantled a human trafficking network and successfully rescued a two-month-old infant who had been abducted from a local shopping complex. The primary suspect, Boga Narsing Raj, was apprehended within five hours of the reported abduction. The infant was found at the residence of a woman who had allegedly purchased the child.

The abduction occurred at D-Mart in Kachiguda, where the suspect lured the mother under the pretense of assisting with shopping. While the mother was selecting items, she entrusted her baby to the suspect, who then fled the scene with the infant. Upon receiving the complaint, police swiftly formed special teams and utilized CCTV footage to track and apprehend the suspect at Gowliguda, Hyderabad. The infant was safely reunited with his mother, and legal proceedings have been initiated against the individuals involved.

Ongoing Efforts and Future Actions

These operations underscore the Telangana Police’s unwavering commitment to eradicating human trafficking within the state. The establishment of 30 Anti-Human Trafficking Units across various districts has bolstered the state’s capacity to address such crimes effectively.

In 2022 alone, Telangana registered 391 cases of human trafficking, reflecting a significant increase from previous years.

This surge in reported cases can be attributed to enhanced vigilance, community awareness, and proactive policing.

The recent raids in Kondapur and Kachiguda highlight the importance of community involvement and prompt reporting in combating human trafficking. Authorities continue to encourage citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to aid in the swift rescue of victims and the apprehension of perpetrators.

As investigations proceed, the Telangana Police remain dedicated to dismantling human trafficking networks and ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents. Collaborative efforts between law enforcement agencies, community members, and support organizations are crucial in creating a society free from exploitation and abuse.
