Tom Holland is set to star in Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated upcoming film, but the actor admits he’s in the dark about the project’s details. While he’s thrilled to work with the Oscar-winning director, Holland shared that he has no knowledge of the film’s storyline, as the project remains under tight wraps.
Speaking on the Dish podcast, Holland revealed, “It hasn’t started shooting, to be perfectly honest with you. I don’t know anything about it.” He added that he met with Nolan briefly, who gave him a “loose pitch” about the film, but emphasized that no official details have been disclosed yet. “Everything is very, very hush-hush. I’m super excited, though,” Holland said.
Christopher Nolan, who is writing and directing the film, will be collaborating with Universal Pictures, the studio that distributed his Oscar-winning Oppenheimer. The movie is set for a July 17, 2026 release. Nolan is producing the film alongside his wife, Emma Thomas, under their Syncopy production company.
In addition to Holland, the film will feature Matt Damon, who has previously worked with Nolan on Oppenheimer and Interstellar (2014), along with Anne Hathaway and Zendaya. This film will mark Holland’s first collaboration with the acclaimed director.
Holland also spoke fondly of working alongside Zendaya, his co-star and longtime partner. “It’s just that perfect thing when you’re on set and a director will give you a note that maybe you don’t agree with, or I know she doesn’t particularly like, and it’s just that familiar glance at each other, like, ‘Can’t wait to talk about that later,'” he shared, reflecting on their strong bond both on and off the screen.
Fans eagerly await more news as filming is set to begin, but for now, Holland’s excitement is tempered by the mystery surrounding Nolan’s next blockbuster.
