Tori Spelling recently reflected on a difficult moment from her past when she didn’t speak to her late Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star Luke Perry for several months. This fallout occurred after Perry had an intense altercation with her then-boyfriend, Nick Savalas, during a Christmas Eve party in the early ’90s.
According to Spelling, Perry and Savalas had always clashed, with Perry openly disapproving of her relationship due to Savalas’ behavior towards her. Things came to a head when Savalas approached Perry, sparking a physical confrontation. Perry, who had always been protective of Spelling, couldn’t stand by as he watched her endure what she described as an abusive relationship. The situation escalated to the point where Spelling’s 90210 co-star, Jason Priestley, had to step in to break up the fight.

At the time, Spelling was upset with Perry for getting involved in her personal life, and their fallout lasted several months, despite their ongoing work together on Beverly Hills, 90210. However, in hindsight, Spelling now recognizes that Perry’s actions came from a place of care and concern for her well-being.
Spelling described Perry as a “big brother” who cared deeply for her. In a podcast appearance, she admitted that while she was hurt by the confrontation at the time, she later realized that Perry’s protective nature was born out of love. She also mentioned that her castmates, including Perry, played a crucial role in helping her exit the toxic relationship.
Nearly three decades later, Spelling looks back on this incident as a defining moment in their friendship. Reflecting on Perry’s passing in 2019, she expressed how much she misses him and the enduring impact he had on her life.
