US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan is scheduled to visit India on January 6-7, 2025, to engage in discussions with his Indian counterpart, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. This visit aims to review the progress of the Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET), a collaborative effort launched in January 2023 to enhance technological cooperation between the two nations.

During his visit, Sullivan is expected to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. He will also deliver a lecture on “The United States and India: Building a Shared Future” in New Delhi on January 6.

The iCET initiative has been instrumental in fostering closer ties between the US and India, focusing on areas such as defense cooperation, clean energy supply chains, and semiconductor manufacturing. Sullivan’s support for India’s access to critical technologies and his efforts to strengthen strategic relations have been acknowledged by Indian officials.

This visit is anticipated to be the final formal engagement between the outgoing Biden administration and the Indian government, underscoring the enduring partnership between the two countries.
