In a significant development in the RG Kar rape and murder case, West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose urgently requested that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee provide a report after the prime accused, Sanjay Roy, claimed he was framed. “Governor CV Ananda Bose has urged the state government to look into the troubling allegations raised by Sanjay Roy, who, during proceedings at Sealdah Court on November 11, 2024, reportedly stated that senior police officers, including Vineet Goyal, were behind his framing in the RG Kar case,” the statement from the Raj Bhavan Media Cell said.

According to reports, on November 11, Sanjay Roy, while being transported from the Sealdah Court, shouted to reporters, claiming that they had falsely implicated him in the rape and murder of the medical college doctor. He named Vineet Goyal as the mastermind behind the conspiracy, claiming that Goyal and other senior officers had threatened him and framed him for the crime.
