Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has successfully completed its merger with Walt Disney’s India operations, creating a colossal media joint venture valued at Rs.70,352 crore ($8.5 billion). This merger aims to revolutionize India’s entertainment landscape, combining an extensive portfolio of TV channels, sports rights, and digital streaming platforms.

Jio Launches Rs.11 Data Pack Offering 10GB of 4G Data: Details & Validity

Reliance Jio has unveiled a new data voucher priced at Rs.11, providing users with 10GB of 4G data for a limited period, offering a budget-friendly option for users who have exhausted their daily data limits or require additional data for short-term use.

This new Rs.11 voucher provides a one-hour validity window during which users can enjoy 10GB of high-speed 4G data.

Once the one-hour validity period expires, Jio reduces the data speed, but users can continue accessing the internet at no extra cost. This plan focuses solely on data usage and does not include voice calls or SMS, making it an ideal option for those who need temporary internet access without the full range of services.

The ₹11 pack is available for both prepaid and postpaid users, who can purchase it through the MyJio app or website. Interestingly, users without an active base plan can still access this offer, although calls and SMS will remain unavailable during the pack’s usage.

This makes it one of the most affordable data plans in India, with competition from Airtel offering similar 10GB for rs.11, but with one hour of validity.

Other Jio data vouchers include:
– Rs.49 Plan: Unlimited 4G data for one day
– Rs.175 Plan: 10GB data with 10 OTT apps for 28 days
– Rs.219 Plan: 30GB data for 30 days
– Rs.359 Plan: 50GB data for 30 days

Additionally, Jio offers data booster packs starting at ₹19 for 1GB, extending up to ₹139 for 12GB, valid based on the user’s base plan.

This launch is another step in Jio’s strategy to offer affordable data options, catering to users in need of quick internet access, without the commitment of a full data plan.

Dispute Erupts Between Kalki 2898 AD Producers and US-Europe Distributors Over Earnings and Shares

A financial dispute has erupted between the producers of Kalki 2898 AD, one of the year’s most anticipated sci-fi films, and its US and European distributors. The producers allege that the distributors shortchanged them and withheld significant earnings from the film’s international distribution. The ongoing tussle, which has raised concerns over financial transparency, came to light when an email from Vyjayanthi Movies, the production house behind the film, leaked online.

Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin and starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan, has earned over ₹1000 crore worldwide since its release. However, months after the film’s successful launch, the producers claim that they have not received their fair share from the film’s international earnings in the US and Europe.

The leaked email, sent from Vyjayanthi Movies to the US-Europe distributors, suggests that the film earned approximately $1.3 million gross in these regions. Despite this, the production house has reportedly only received an advance of ₹5 crore from the distributors. The producers allege that the distributors are now claiming the film has performed poorly, reporting only ₹3 crore in earnings from these territories, and are withholding the remaining share due to claimed losses in Europe.

A source close to the production house confirmed the email’s authenticity and described the situation as a case of financial malpractice. The source explained that the distributors, who are handling both the US and European markets, have misrepresented the film’s performance. “The film made $1.3 million according to trackers, but they have paid only ₹5 crore in advance and are now claiming that the earnings were much lower than reported,” the source said. The producers are now considering legal action, as the distributors have failed to respond to the email and have instead leaked it to the media.

The email also suggests that the distributors, who received the film for a refundable advance of ₹5 crore, are now claiming losses and withholding the remaining ₹2 crore from the US and Canada. Vyjayanthi Movies has reportedly given the distributors a 48-hour ultimatum to settle the outstanding dues before pursuing legal action.

In addition to the dispute over earnings, the producers have also raised concerns about alleged malpractice related to the film’s censorship and publicity billing in the US and Europe.

As of now, neither the producers nor the distributors have issued an official statement regarding the ongoing conflict.

Supriya Sule Criticizes BJP’s Leadership, Promises Transparent Governance Under MVA

Navi Mumbai: Supriya Sule, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP, has launched a scathing critique of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership, accusing the current “BJP 2.0” of lacking cultural refinement and integrity. Speaking at a campaign rally for the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) candidate Sandeep Naik in Belapur, Sule highlighted the recent controversies surrounding BJP leaders, particularly Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Sule’s criticism was sharp as she referenced an alleged audio recording of BJP MLA Manda Mhatre, in which inappropriate language was used, although Mhatre denied its authenticity. Sule also pointed to alleged incidents involving BJP leaders, including Dhananjay Mahadik and Raosaheb Danve, who faced accusations of threatening women and assaulting party workers.

The NCP leader further targeted Fadnavis for his handling of law and order issues, contrasting his record with that of R R Patil, whom she praised for his transparent approach to police recruitment during his tenure. She also referenced the Badlapur sexual abuse case, accusing Fadnavis’s administration of failing to address rising crimes against women effectively.

Sule’s remarks extended to the broader political environment, criticizing the BJP’s approach to political discourse and calling out their hypocrisy. “They labeled us the ‘Naturally Corrupt Party’ before welcoming our former members into their fold,” she remarked.

NCP State President Jayant Patil also voiced concerns about the BJP’s alleged use of communal tactics, particularly bringing in leaders like Yogi Adityanath to stoke division in Maharashtra, a state known for its inclusive culture.

Sule concluded her address with a promise of transparent governance under a future MVA government, positioning it as an alternative to what she described as BJP’s divisive and authoritarian approach to politics.

Narayana Murthy Defends Six-Day Workweek: ‘Hard Work Is Non-Negotiable for Progress

NEW DELHI: Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy has stirred debates with his consistent advocacy for a six-day workweek and a 70-hour work schedule for India’s youth. Highlighting India’s relatively low productivity levels compared to global competitors like China and Japan, Murthy emphasized the need for a robust work ethic to ensure the nation’s economic progress. His statements stem from his belief that diligence is the cornerstone of national development.

Speaking at the CNBC Global Leadership Summit, Murthy reiterated, “Hard work is non-negotiable for a developing nation to compete on a global scale.” He argued that sacrifices in leisure and comfort are necessary for fostering a culture of excellence, citing examples from post-war economic recoveries in Japan and Germany.

Advocating Hard Work as a Responsibility
Murthy’s philosophy on work stems from personal experience. During his professional journey, he adhered to grueling schedules, often working 14 hours a day, six days a week. He believes this level of commitment is a responsibility, especially for those benefiting from subsidized education in India. “Our privilege demands accountability to the less fortunate,” he said during a podcast with former Infosys CFO Mohandas Pai.

Murthy’s defense of a rigorous workweek also drew parallels with the dedication of Indian farmers and laborers, who often toil under harsher conditions. He suggested that educated professionals have a duty to match that level of effort.

Mixed Reactions and Global Context
While Murthy’s call for extended work hours has been supported by some as a practical step for achieving global competitiveness, it has also drawn criticism. Detractors argue that such demands could undermine work-life balance and mental health. Critics have highlighted the importance of addressing systemic inefficiencies rather than increasing individual workloads.

Conclusion
Murthy’s vision continues to provoke discussions on balancing productivity and employee well-being. As India strives to become a global economic leader, the debate over work culture will remain crucial in shaping the nation’s future.

BJP Haryana Chief Mohan Lal Badoli Targets Those Who Worked Against the Party During Elections

In a recent interaction with the media, BJP Haryana President Mohan Lal Badoli announced that the party has identified key workers and leaders who had worked against them during the recent assembly elections.

Badoli stated that the central leadership will receive the list of individuals who worked against the BJP during the recent elections for further action. He also stressed that those who left the BJP during the election period will not be permitted to rejoin the party.

In his efforts to strengthen the party’s base, Badoli urged party workers to recruit at least 250 new members per booth in Rohtak district, with the goal of reaching 50 lakh new members across Haryana. He attributed the BJP’s victory in the Haryana assembly elections, securing a third consecutive term, to the hard work and dedication of its workers.

Looking ahead, Badoli outlined BJP’s preparation for the 2029 Lok Sabha elections, stressing the importance of winning upcoming civic body polls in Haryana. Additionally, he criticized the Congress party, accusing it of failing to accept its defeat and diverting attention to unrelated issues such as the DAP shortage.

Badoli also claimed that Congress is losing its grip in Haryana, as the party’s leadership remains dominated by one family, sidelining other leaders.

His remarks come as the BJP actively prepares for upcoming electoral challenges, both in Haryana and nationwide. The state’s political environment remains competitive, with Congress working on a potential revival. However, BJP is executing strategic moves, including leadership shifts and grassroots efforts, to consolidate its support base across communities and strengthen its foothold in the state.
