Mumbai: Police arrested a 21-year-old man from Noida, Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly issuing death threats to actor Salman Khan and MLA Zeeshan Siddique. The threats, which also involved a ransom demand, were sent to Siddique’s office in Bandra on Friday evening. Following the complaint filed by Siddique’s team, police traced the sender and identified him as Mohammad Tayyab.

Tayyab was transported to the Nirmal Nagar Police Station in Mumbai, where authorities are investigating his motives behind the threatening message. According to police reports, the threats warned of harm to both Siddique and Khan unless money was paid.

This incident follows a recent wave of threats against Salman Khan, including those linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In April, Khan’s Bandra residence was targeted by gunfire, and intelligence reports earlier this year revealed plots against him, prompting enhanced security for the actor.

Another similar case involved a vegetable seller from Jamshedpur, who was arrested for sending a prank ransom message to Mumbai Police demanding ₹5 crore from Khan. Although the sender later apologized, the police pursued the investigation seriously, highlighting the ongoing security risks surrounding Khan.

Apple Intelligence Unveiled: Key AI Features in iOS 18.1 for iPhones

Apple’s latest iOS 18.1, launched on October 28, brings its most advanced artificial intelligence suite, Apple Intelligence, to the iPhone, marking a new chapter in smart user experience. Initially exclusive to users with U.S. English settings, this rollout is expected to expand internationally by December. With this release, Apple aims to blend on-device AI with secure cloud capabilities to power productivity, privacy, and efficiency across iOS devices.

One major highlight is the upgraded Siri experience. With enhanced conversational abilities, Siri now responds more naturally, handling complex, multi-step commands and pauses mid-sentence—a notable improvement for users who rely on it for hands-free operation. The addition of “Type to Siri” allows silent commands via double-tap on the screen, adding another layer of convenience.

The Mail app also sees a significant AI-driven boost. New Smart Reply and Summarization features speed up responses, while advanced filtering prioritizes time-sensitive emails. Users can now view summaries directly on the lock screen, minimizing the need to open each message individually. This functionality extends to text messages, supporting productivity with AI-generated response suggestions that adapt to context.

Apple Intelligence also refines the Photos app with a Clean Up tool. This feature, designed to eliminate unwanted elements from images, detects distractions such as photobombers or objects in the background. By circling or tapping, users can easily remove these, maintaining focus on the main subject.

Further, the Reduce Interruptions mode leverages AI to prioritize notifications, silencing less important alerts while allowing critical ones. For added productivity, iOS 18.1 includes new summarization tools that condense long emails or articles into brief, actionable summaries, saving time for users on the go.

Overall, Apple’s iOS 18.1 advances its AI capabilities, creating a more intuitive, seamless user experience across devices while prioritizing privacy and control over personal data—a promising development for iPhone users worldwide.

Mumbai: Amidst ongoing speculation about their marriage, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s personal lives remain in the spotlight. The couple, who married in 2007 and share a daughter, Aaradhya, have fueled rumors with separate public appearances, particularly when Aishwarya attended a recent family gathering alone. Abhishek, absent from this celebration, also liked a social media post discussing the rise of “grey divorces,” which added fuel to the speculation surrounding their relationship.

Family Reactions

Gautam Singhania Raises Concerns over Lamborghini’s Reliability Amid Rising Demand for Supercars in India

Mumbai: The high-stakes world of luxury supercar ownership in India has come under scrutiny following an incident involving Gautam Singhania, the MD of Raymond Group, who recently questioned the reliability of Lamborghini’s latest V12 hybrid model, the Revuelto. During a test drive on Mumbai’s Trans-Harbour Link, the supercar stalled due to a complete electrical failure, compelling Singhania to publicly question its dependability.

In a post on X, Singhania voiced concerns about the Revuelto, stating, “It’s a brand-new car—are there reliability concerns?” He further highlighted that this issue wasn’t isolated, as two other Revuelto models reportedly faced similar failures recently, raising questions about the model’s engineering.

Despite such concerns, India’s supercar market remains buoyant. Lamborghini India has seen a notable 12% rise in sales in 2024, with 103 units sold by August. Similarly, Porsche reported a 40% growth in sales in the first half of the year. Industry experts suggest that exclusivity and brand loyalty drive this demand, with Ferrari, Porsche, and Lamborghini dominating the Indian luxury car market.

The allure of exclusive models has also led to creative purchasing strategies among affluent buyers. Some enthusiasts turn to international markets, using ATA Carnet registrations to bypass Indian duties by registering in Dubai and temporarily importing the car. Others buy second-hand models from their chosen brands to gain priority for upcoming flagship models, mirroring sales tactics of brands like Ferrari and Rolex.

As demand continues to outstrip supply, Singhania’s criticism points to a challenge for manufacturers: maintaining premium performance standards while meeting rising expectations. This episode highlights both the technical and customer service hurdles luxury carmakers face as they expand in the growing Indian market.

10-Year-Old Spiritual Orator Abhinav Arora Receives Death Threats from Lawrence Bishnoi Gang

His mother, Jyoti Arora, reported that the threats escalated following a viral video where Hindu spiritual leader Swami Rambhadracharya reprimanded him during a religious event. Jyoti stated, “Abhinav has not done anything to deserve these threats; he is just devoted to his faith”.

On October 28, 2024, Jyoti disclosed that they received threatening messages and calls from the gang, warning that Abhinav would be killed if he continued to gain popularity online. The family has since filed a complaint with the Mathura police, seeking legal protection against these threats. He noted, “There’s chaos outside our house… how long will we tolerate this?” Despite the threats, he emphasized that his focus remains on spirituality, sharing, “People are only discussing the scolding I received but not the blessings I got afterward”.

Wayanad Battle: BJP Attacks Priyanka Gandhi While She Connects with Voters

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) intensified its criticism of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra during her campaign in Wayanad, Kerala, ahead of the upcoming by-election on November 13. BJP spokesperson CR Kesavan branded her an “opportunist” and a “footloose political tourist,” asserting that the Gandhi family’s connection to the constituency has resulted in voter betrayal.

Kesavan highlighted the disillusionment of Wayanad voters stemming from Rahul Gandhi’s decision to vacate the seat earlier this year. “The voters of Wayanad have had a very bitter experience with the betrayal of Rahul Gandhi. They know that like her brother, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is unreliable, undependable, and untrustworthy,” he stated. He further accused the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty of treating Wayanad as a “feudal political playground,” emphasizing that the local populace perceives no genuine concern from the Gandhis for their needs.

In contrast, Priyanka Gandhi sought to connect emotionally with the electorate. During her campaign, she recounted a touching encounter with a local resident whose mother was unwell. “I went to the house of the person and met his mother. She hugged me as if I was her child… That is how Wayanad makes me feel,” she remarked, expressing her pride in the community’s resilience and unity following natural disasters.

Priyanka also reflected on her visits with her brother after recent landslides, noting the courage and dignity displayed by local families affected by the tragedy. “You are courageous, and you honor the teachings of all religions. How can I not be the proudest person to represent Wayanad?” she asserted.

As the election approaches, the stakes are high for both parties, with the BJP aiming to consolidate its position and the Congress striving to regain trust in a constituency that has recently experienced significant political upheaval.

Political Uncertainty Reigns in Japan: A Coalition in Crisis!

Japan’s political landscape is in disarray following a recent snap election that left no party with a clear majority. The ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), led by Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, suffered a significant setback, securing only 215 seats in the 465-member lower house, down from 279. This outcome marks the LDP’s worst electoral performance since it lost power in 2009, reflecting widespread voter dissatisfaction linked to a funding scandal and rising living costs.

The election results prompted a swift decline in the yen, reaching a three-month low, as markets braced for an extended period of political negotiations. Ishiba, who assumed leadership just weeks prior, vowed to remain as Prime Minister despite the coalition’s electoral drubbing. During a press conference, he stated, “We cannot allow not even a moment of stagnation as we face very difficult situations both in our security and economic environments,” underscoring the urgent need for stable governance amid economic challenges and regional security threats from China and North Korea.

In contrast, the main opposition party, the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan (CDPJ), emerged as a significant victor, increasing its seat count from 98 to 148 but still falling short of the majority threshold of 233. CDPJ leader Yoshihiko Noda expressed a desire to collaborate with other parties to unseat the incumbents, though this remains a challenging prospect.

The electoral turmoil has raised questions about Ishiba’s leadership, with analysts suggesting that his position could be tenuous. Political risk advisory expert Tobias Harris noted, “It seems unlikely that he will survive to lead a new government as prime minister, though it is possible he could stay on as caretaker”.

As the political jockeying begins, smaller parties, including the Democratic Party for the People (DPP) and the Japan Innovation Party (JIP), could play pivotal roles in negotiations. While both parties have ruled out joining a coalition, they are open to cooperation on specific issues. DPP leader Yuichiro Tamaki and JIP leader Nobuyuki Baba’s positions may influence the formation of a new government.

In a notable development, the election also saw a record number of women elected to Japan’s parliament, with 73 seats filled by female candidates, surpassing the previous record set in 2009.

As Japan faces pressing economic and security challenges, the next few weeks will be critical in determining the future direction of its government. With a parliamentary vote on the premiership anticipated on November 11, the political landscape remains fraught with uncertainty.

Maharashtra’s ‘Freedom’ at Stake: Akhilesh Speaks Out

Mumbai: Ahead of the Maharashtra assembly elections scheduled for November 20, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav has ramped up his criticisms of the BJP-led Mahayuti coalition, which includes the Shiv Sena faction led by Eknath Shinde and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP. Yadav, in a series of statements, has labeled the BJP’s governance as divisive and detrimental to Maharashtra’s economic and social unity, calling for a united front among opposition parties to counter the alliance’s influence.

Akhilesh Yadav’s message, shared on X (formerly Twitter), highlights what he perceives as BJP’s “negative politics” aimed at disrupting Maharashtra’s harmony and economic stability. He contends that the party’s strategies could undermine the state’s position as a leader in India’s economy, potentially transferring economic control to other regions. According to Yadav, the upcoming election is a chance for Maharashtra’s citizens to “liberate” themselves from the “sabotage” brought by the ruling coalition’s communal tactics.

Yadav also praised the media and social activists in Maharashtra who, despite challenges, continue to counter BJP’s “propaganda” by exposing alleged corruption and malpractice. He voiced confidence that Maharashtra’s “awakened political and social consciousness” will prevent what he calls the BJP’s attempt to dismantle the state’s historic brotherhood. Furthermore, he urged impartial media figures to resist any misleading narratives from the BJP, asserting their role as democracy’s “fourth pillar”.

This stance from Akhilesh Yadav aligns with efforts by other opposition leaders who are strategizing to leverage public dissatisfaction over issues like unemployment and rising inflation. In his statements, Yadav encouraged voters to focus on creating a government that represents Maharashtra’s true democratic choice rather than one pieced together through political deals and alliances.

The Maharashtra assembly elections for the 288 seats will be followed by the results on November 23, with the opposition hoping for a notable shift in the state’s leadership and policy direction.(Input From Agencies)
