This incident has raised public concerns about the safety of hiring services via online platforms. Despite the convenience these apps offer, users are urged to remain vigilant, especially during festive seasons when such scams may become more prevalent. The lack of strict regulatory oversight in the online service industry has come under scrutiny, as several platforms advertise themselves as professional but fail to guarantee thorough background checks.

Police stressed that service providers are legally obligated to conduct background verification of all workers. Meanwhile, NoBroker has blocked the accounts of the suspected employees in response to the incident.

Delhi’s Air Quality Crisis: Akhilesh Yadav Criticizes BJP for Inaction

New Delhi: Delhi’s air quality has once again plunged into the “very poor” category, with some areas recording “severe” pollution levels. On Sunday, the city’s 24-hour average Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 355, a significant increase from 255 the previous day, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Neighboring regions such as Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, and Noida also reported “very poor” air quality, while Faridabad and Gurugram experienced “poor” conditions.

In response to the escalating pollution crisis, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav criticized the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its inability to address the persistent environmental issue. Yadav described the situation as an “annual topic,” highlighting that the impacts of Delhi’s pollution are now reaching Uttar Pradesh. He emphasized the need for government action, stating, “When the central government is unable to keep the environment clean and healthy, what of the rest of the country?”

Yadav pointed out that the smog not only affects public health but also tarnishes India’s image internationally, particularly in a city that houses numerous foreign embassies. “The BJP government, which claims to be making the country proud, cannot even save its capital from smog,” he remarked.

As calm winds contributed to the accumulation of pollutants, three monitoring stations in Delhi—Bawana, Burari, and Jahangirpuri—reported “severe” air quality levels. Yadav urged citizens to take personal precautions, advising them to drive carefully and protect vulnerable populations, including the elderly and children. “The message from the failed BJP government is: Don’t rely on us, take care of yourself,” he said.

The ongoing crisis has sparked a blame game between the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), as both parties defend their records amid mounting public concern. With the situation becoming increasingly dire, calls for immediate action and accountability are growing louder from various quarters.

Army Vehicle Attacked by Terrorists in Akhnoor, Jammu & Kashmir

On Monday morning, an Indian Army vehicle was fired upon by terrorists in the Battal area of Akhnoor, located near the international border in Jammu and Kashmir. Fortunately, the quick response from alert soldiers successfully thwarted the attack, and no injuries or casualties were reported. Security forces have since launched a search operation in the area to track the attackers and prevent any further escalation.

This incident is part of a worrying trend in the region, with multiple recent attacks targeting both military personnel and civilians. Just days earlier, on Thursday, terrorists ambushed two army vehicles in the Baramulla district, resulting in the deaths of two soldiers and two civilians. The convoy, which included Rashtriya Rifles personnel and civilian porters, was en route to the Nagin post in the Afarwat range near Gulmarg when the attack occurred. The ambush took place at Botapathri, a location just six kilometers from the tourist hub of Gulmarg, underscoring the volatile security situation even in areas frequented by civilians and tourists.

In another disturbing attack last week, terrorists killed a local doctor and six migrant laborers at a construction site in the Gagangir area of Ganderbal. This string of assaults reflects a deliberate attempt by terrorist groups to disrupt both military operations and civilian life in the region. Security forces remain on high alert, with intensified operations aimed at neutralizing these threats and ensuring stability in sensitive border areas like Akhnoor.

The recent spate of attacks highlights ongoing challenges for the security apparatus in Jammu and Kashmir, as terrorists continue to shift focus between military convoys, infrastructure projects, and civilian targets. Efforts are underway to enhance surveillance and strengthen troop deployments in vulnerable areas to deter further terrorist activities.

Andhra Pradesh: Tirupati’s renowned ISKCON temple faced a bomb scare on Sunday, when temple authorities received an alarming email threatening an attack by alleged ISIS terrorists. Immediately after the threat, the temple’s management lodged a formal complaint with local police, sparking a swift response from law enforcement. Police teams, including bomb squads and canine units, conducted a thorough search of the premises to ensure the safety of devotees and staff. Despite the intense search, no explosives or other hazardous materials were found.

Circle Inspector Srinivasulu confirmed the bomb threat and detailed the police department’s response, emphasizing their commitment to public safety. He assured the public that investigative efforts are ongoing to identify the individual or group behind this threat. Authorities are, however, leaning towards the possibility of this being yet another hoax, as it follows a pattern of similar threats received by establishments in Tirupati in recent days.

This incident marks the fourth bomb threat in the past three days in Tirupati, following a series of hoax threats targeting various establishments in the town. Just one day prior, two hotels received bomb threats, which, after investigation, were also deemed false. Earlier last week, three other hotels in the area received similar threatening messages, causing anxiety among locals and visitors alike.

The threatening email reportedly referenced Jaffer Sadiq, a high-profile suspect in a drug trafficking network, who was recently apprehended by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Tamil Nadu. While officials are investigating any potential connection between these threats and the recent arrest, no concrete link has yet been established. An FIR has been registered, and a dedicated investigative team is currently probing the situation.

MVA Seals Seat-Sharing Deal, Congress Biggest Gainer in Maharashtra

Mumbai: With the Maharashtra Assembly elections scheduled for November 20, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance has finalized its seat-sharing arrangement among Congress, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), and Shiv Sena (UBT) after extensive negotiations.

Under the agreement, Congress is likely to contest 105 seats, Shiv Sena (UBT) will contest 95 seats, and NCP will compete in 84 of the 288 assembly seats. The remaining seats will be allocated to smaller alliance members, including the Samajwadi Party (SP) and other regional partners, after final adjustments.

The deal, concluded after prolonged discussions, reflects strategic priorities within the alliance. MVA leaders, including Congress’s Nana Patole and Shiv Sena (UBT)’s Sanjay Raut, have expressed confidence in the coalition’s strength. Patole stated, “Our objective remains clear: to safeguard Maharashtra’s secular fabric,” reinforcing Congress’s commitment to combat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government’s influence in the state.

The finalized seat-sharing formula came after deliberations led by senior MVA leaders, with NCP chief Sharad Pawar reportedly playing a pivotal role in mediating between Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT) to resolve conflicting claims, especially in key constituencies. Raut confirmed, “We will field strong candidates across all regions, particularly in areas where each party has an established voter base, to maximize our collective impact”.

As candidates file their nominations, the alliance’s cohesion will be tested, particularly in regions like Vidarbha and Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), where each party has traditionally held influence.

However a final announcement from the MVA is awaited which most likely will give a clear picture on the seat sharing.

4 Month Mystery Unfolds in Kanpur: Gym Trainer Arrested After Woman’s Body Found

Lucknow : Kanpur police have apprehended Vimal Soni, a local gym trainer, for allegedly murdering a businessman’s wife, whose body was discovered near the District Magistrate’s official residence. The woman, who had been missing since June 24, was found buried on October 26, following Soni’s confession.

Authorities report that Soni and the victim had a contentious relationship, especially after the victim learned of his engagement. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shravan Kumar Singh, the woman, a regular at Soni’s gym in Kanpur’s Green Park area, was deeply distressed upon hearing about his upcoming marriage. On June 24, during a confrontation in his car, an altercation escalated, and Soni allegedly punched her in the neck, causing her to faint. Realizing she was unresponsive, he reportedly killed her and later buried her body near the DM’s bungalow. Initially, Soni attempted to mislead investigators by claiming he disposed of the body in the Ganga, prompting an extensive but futile search in the river.

The case presented significant challenges for law enforcement due to Soni’s lack of mobile phone usage, which hampered digital tracking efforts. Police teams were dispatched across cities, including Pune and Agra, to trace his whereabouts. DCP Singh stated that persistent interrogation finally led Soni to confess the crime and disclose the burial location, where officers then excavated and recovered the victim’s remains.

A Beyond Ridiculous: Alia Bhatt Slams Trolls Over Cosmetic Surgery Speculations

In a recent social media outburst, actress Alia Bhatt addressed the rampant speculation surrounding her appearance, specifically accusations suggesting that she has undergone botched cosmetic procedures. The star took to her Instagram stories to express her frustration over misleading claims that she has facial paralysis due to Botox.

Alia’s post targeted trolls and critics who have circulated videos and articles claiming that her smile appears “crooked” and her speech “weird.” She emphasized the serious nature of these allegations, which she deemed to be baseless and harmful. “And now you’re confidently tossing around ‘scientific’ explanations, claiming I’m paralysed on one side? Are you kidding me?” she wrote, highlighting the absurdity of such claims being made without any evidence.

Alia continued, “Absolutely NO JUDGEMENT towards anyone who chooses cosmetic corrections or surgery—your body, your choice. But wow, this is beyond ridiculous! This hypercritical judgment of a human face is appalling.” She pointed out the potential harm these rumors can inflict, especially on young and impressionable audiences who might believe this sensationalized content.

The actress called for a shift in how women are perceived and treated in the media. “Why are you saying this? For clickbait? Attention? Because none of it makes sense,” she asserted, criticizing the unrealistic standards women face. She lamented, “A lot of this judgment comes from other women. Whatever happened to ‘live and let live’?”

On the professional front, Alia Bhatt was recently seen in Jigra, and she has upcoming projects including Alpha and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, where she stars alongside her husband, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal.

Mumbai: Actor Suniel Shetty and his son Ahan Shetty have added a prime real estate asset to their portfolio, acquiring a property for Rs 8.01 crores in Khar West, Mumbai. As per registration documents accessed by Square Yards, the Shettys secured the property through a bank auction, finalizing the deal with a ‘Sale Certificate’ in October 2024.

The newly purchased space spans approximately 1,200 square feet (111.52 sq. m.). The transaction involved a stamp duty payment of Rs 40.08 lakh and a registration fee of Rs 30,000.
